Gurugram, (Haryana)/Delhi, [India], September 03, 2024: On August 30th & 31st, 2024, the EMRI Emergency Responder Program, spearheaded by Yi Gurugram’s Road Safety Vertical, concluded triumphantly. The two-day intensive training, hosted at the CII Regional Office in Udyog Vihar, Gurugram, equipped participants with crucial skills for emergency response, potentially transforming them into lifesavers.
The program’s inception was catalysed by a recent incident at Delhi airport, where CISF personnel’s swift CPR application saved a passenger from a sudden cardiac arrest. This event underscored the paramount importance of immediate medical intervention in critical situations.
Leading the training were distinguished professionals from the GVK Group. Dr. Satish Kumar Ramoju, a Senior Clinical Instructor at EMRI 108 services, spearheaded the sessions. With over 13 years of experience and certifications from Stanford University and the American Heart Association, Dr. Ramoju brought global expertise to the program.
Assisting Dr. Ramoju’s efforts was Mr. Phani Prasad Karanam, another Senior Clinical Instructor at EMRI 108 services. Mr. Karanam, a Stanford-trained advanced paramedic, has extensive field and teaching experience that enriched the training immensely. In association with Gurugram Police and FTA as the title sponsor, the occasion became a huge success. The esteemed panel was further bolstered by the presence of Mr. J. S. Cheema, the former Head of Marketing & Promotion at YAMAHA, and Ms. Surinder Kaur, (𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐏𝐎𝐋𝐈𝐂𝐄 𝐌𝐄𝐃𝐀𝐋 𝐀𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐃𝐄𝐄) HPS, ACP Traffic Gurugam.
Participants’ enthusiasm was palpable throughout the sessions. Many companies across industries participated in this training session, including South West Pinnacle, WatWorx, Spectra, Genext, and IILM.
Akshay Maheshwari (Chair, Yi Gurugram) remarked, “We are impressed by the positive response to this program. The participants’ enthusiasm and dedication were inspiring.”
Echoing this sentiment, Anupam Mehrotra (Chair – Road Safety, Yi Gurugram) shared, “The success of this event is a testament to the importance of practical training in emergency preparedness. We are thrilled to see many individuals from various industries come together.”
After attending the 2-days emergency response training session, one of the participants —Wreicha Sharma, a full-time professional, expresses her gratitude. She says, “Since I tour a lot because of my professional responsibilities, I’ve meant to attend one such session. I thank Young India for creating this opportunity where I could empower myself as a responsible citizen.”
Coincidentally, the next day Wreicha came across an accident on an expressway. She collected her courage and applied all her learnings to cater to the victim’s emergency needs. As she helped the patient reach the hospital and receive medical attention, Wreicha was overwhelmed by the gratitude she got.
The success of this initiative serves as a reminder of how basic medical knowledge and quick action can make a crucial difference in life-threatening situations. Through this program, Gurugram’s Road Safety Vertical has taken proactive steps to prevent tragedies and improve regional emergency response capabilities.
