Unusually for a tech startup, Happy Pet Tech’s seed investors are also pet parents. Suresh and Anita Murugan always say they have four kids – Two human kids and two German Shepherds.“Supporting Anil wasn’t about ROI for me,” said Suresh, “It was about backing someone who genuinely wanted to make life better for pets and those who care for them.”
Similar sentiments were echoed by Divya and Surya Annamaneni. They always proudly claim they have two sets of twins – A pair of Dogo Argentinos who were adopted during the pandemic, and their children who followed a year later.

What Anil and the team have built may look like a technology platform today, but it’s the growing community within it that will make it a necessity for pet businesses in the near future.”

The platform’s success is also rooted in thoughtful design and user experience, led by a small, focused product team. Varun Sudhakar, who has been part of the team since the ideation stage, said, “Pet businesses don’t operate like regular businesses. We’ve built this platform specifically around their needs.”
Happy Pet Tech is now live across India and has begun expanding into international markets, including the UAE and Australia. The team continues to prioritize user feedback and community engagement over aggressive capital-driven growth.
